2 NYPD Officers Shot By Felon With Officer's Gun. Served 15 Years In Prison For Attempted Murder.

On January 16, 2024 at approximately 3:01 p.m., NYPD officers from the 73rd Precinct received a distress call to respond to an assault in progress. The caller, who occupied apartment unit “2B” located on Bergen Street (1969), reported that she was being physically attacked by her own son and had suffered head injuries as a result. Upon arriving at the scene of the crime, one sergeant and three police officers quickly identified Melvin Butler -a male suspect aged thirty-nine- as perpetrator responsible for assaulting his mother.

When apprehending him however, Mr. Butler became combative; refusing orders given by law enforcement officials requesting he place his hands behind his back during arrest proceedings. An altercation ensued between Mr.Butler and NYDP personnel present with shocking results. There were several gunshots upon officer Brennan’s weapon falling into enemy territory.

During this time period when ammunition entered usage due latter control over handgun started becoming unpredictable hence forcing officer Acevedo alongside others discharge down weapons multiple times. Two separate colleagues sustained various forms of gunshot wounds which led them receiving medical treatment before eventual recovery post healing process.

Moreover sinister history relating towards earlier convictions imposed defendant presents unclear grounds under prevailing scenario whilst facing charges such as Attempted Murder(1st Degree), Assault(Police Officer Qualified)(2nd Degree).with additional robbery/criminal possession offenses added to long-lasting list created .
