Ingredients – Serves 3 to 4
540 gm firm fish. I used boneless skinless salmon fillets. You can also use with bones and skin.
260 gm cauliflower cut into medium to large sized florets
300 gm or 2 medium potatoes
32 gm/1.1 oz/ 1 tablespoon finely grated ginger
200 gm/7 oz/ 1 large onion finely sliced
250 gm/ 9 oz/ 2 medium red ripe tomatoes + 1 small tomato cut into wedges
1 & 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon kashmiri red chilli powder or sweet paprika. Please add less of chilli powder to start with. You can always add at the end after doing a taste test.
1 heaped teaspoon ground cumin (jeera powder)
1 & 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste
1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
1 dry bayleaf
1 teaspoon nigella seeds (kalonji)
1 & 1/2 cups to 2 cups hot water. Add half cup more if you want more gravy
chopped cilantro
Serve this with hot steamed rice
