Indigenous Trap-Pop Artist, Mattmac, who has won awards for his work despite being blind, joins forces with Indigenous Hip-Hop Sensation Stella Standingbear to address self-doubt in their latest collaboration. The new single titled “Imposters” highlights the struggles of feeling inadequate and unworthy.
Mattmac is an innovative leader in the Canadian Trap-Pop music scene and a self-taught multi-instrumentalist, artist, and producer. He creates engaging and impactful music that often explores relatable themes like community, mental health, overcoming hardship etc., unifying the sounds of Pop, Hip-Hop & Trap. Mattmac was born blind on Garden Hill First Nation located 500 km north of Winnipeg but credits his success to his love for music which helped him tackle hurdles.
After being introduced to N’we Jinan by Indigenous mobile production studio – an initiative that teaches communities across Canada about creating their own beats- he honed his talent further thereafter debuting in collaboration with Grammy winner Nelly Furtado before even launching album number one last year.
