Haviah Mighty – Crying Crystals (Behind The Album – A Conversation)

Toronto-based rapper Haviah Mighty sits down with her previous official DJ Demi Rey. A raw conversation between long time friends with history, Haviah and Demi discuss how their bond grew to a working relationship, and the years they shared being in a secret relationship. Both queer-Caribbean women from Canada, they discuss the journey of being ‘in the closet,’ LGBTQ issues while being black, coming into themselves, the balance of doing that while discovering entrepreneurship, and most of all – the fact that their tumultuous experience together, served as major inspiration for Haviah to write and release the ‘Crying Crystals’ album.
