The Atlanta Braves and Toronto Blue Jays faced off once again on April 15, 2025, in the second game of their series at Rogers Centre, and the energy was just as intense as the night before. Fans packed the stands to witness another thrilling chapter in this interleague showdown.
The Braves came out swinging early, putting pressure on the Jays’ starting pitcher right from the first inning. Ozzie Albies led off with a double, followed by a sharp single from Matt Olson to bring him home. Atlanta continued to apply pressure throughout the game with aggressive baserunning and timely hits.
Toronto answered back in the middle innings with a surge of their own. George Springer crushed a solo homer to left field to ignite the crowd, and Cavan Biggio added an RBI double to tie the game in the 5th. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. nearly gave the Jays the lead with a deep fly ball, but it was caught on the warning track.
Defensively, the Braves made key plays that kept the game from swinging Toronto’s way. A highlight-reel diving grab by Michael Harris II in center field robbed the Blue Jays of a potential go-ahead hit in the 7th inning.
The game remained tied into the late innings until the Braves pulled ahead with a clutch two-out, two-run single by Austin Riley in the top of the 9th. Closer Raisel Iglesias came in to shut the door in the bottom of the inning, recording his 6th save of the season.
Final score: Braves 5, Blue Jays 3.
This victory gives the Braves the series edge as both teams look ahead to their next matchups.
