Alex Little Previews Upcoming EP Spider in the Sink With Gritty New Single “Sounds Like a Deal”

Date:

Vancouver’s own Alex Little returns with a sharp, unapologetic single — “Sounds Like a Deal” — the first taste of her forthcoming EP, Spider in the Sink. Blending garage rock energy, alternative edge, and indie grit, the track showcases the fearless songwriting and raw emotion that have made Little one of the most compelling new voices in Canada’s rock underground.

Produced by James Younger of Yukon Blonde, “Sounds Like a Deal” cuts straight to the bone — inspired by a documentary on The Jerry Springer Show and its exploitation of guests. “The poor treatment and exploitation of the people on the show was truly awful and I needed to sing about it,” Little explains. The result is a fiery, unflinching anthem that turns outrage into art.

With Adam Sabla on guitar, Tony Dallas on drums, and Hayz Fisher on bass, the record delivers wiry riffs, a tight rhythm section, and that classic West Coast attitude. It’s gritty, honest, and unafraid — a perfect reflection of Little’s evolution from drummer to frontwoman.

Raised between False Creek and Commercial Drive, Alex Little grew up on a soundtrack of The Replacements, Bowie, The Beatles, and Iggy Pop — influences that echo through her songwriting. After early days drumming in punk outfit Vapid and fronting Alex Little and the Suspicious Minds, she’s now stepping out fully under her own name, crafting music that’s melodic, lived-in, and emotionally raw.

“Sounds Like a Deal” is more than just a single — it’s a statement, a rebellion against spectacle and exploitation, and a defiant introduction to what’s coming on Spider in the Sink.
