Cardi B DEMANDS Hermès Show Process Of Manufacturing After Chinese Workers Speak Out

Date:

Cardi B is once again using her platform to speak out — this time targeting luxury fashion giant Hermès. The Grammy-winning rapper, known for her love of high-end fashion and an impressive Birkin collection, is demanding that Hermès publicly reveal their manufacturing process after allegations surfaced that some of their coveted handbags may not be made in France as traditionally believed.

The controversy began when a viral video featuring alleged Chinese factory workers claimed that Hermès sources production for some of its handbags overseas, calling into question the exclusivity and authenticity that the French label is known for. The claims triggered an outpouring of criticism from fashion enthusiasts and collectors alike, many of whom have paid upwards of tens of thousands of dollars for what they believed were handcrafted, French-made pieces.

Cardi B, who has long been a vocal supporter of the Birkin brand and has showcased her extensive collection on social media, took to her platform to demand answers. “If y’all charging people 20K for a bag, show us how it’s made! I want to see the process. I want to know who’s making these bags and where!” she said in a video response. She emphasized that transparency is not just a consumer right, but a necessary shift in an industry where perceived craftsmanship and luxury dictate astronomical price tags.

Fans and followers have applauded Cardi’s stance, noting that luxury fashion brands rarely face public scrutiny from celebrities who actively promote their products. Her call-out has reignited debates about ethical labor practices, brand honesty, and the mystique of luxury.

So far, Hermès has not responded publicly to the allegations or Cardi’s demand for transparency. But with mounting public pressure and increased media attention, the brand may be forced to provide clarity on what has long been marketed as a hallmark of European artisanry.
