Carmen Toth’s Fix the World – A Fierce Call for Feminine Power

Date:

Toronto-based singer-songwriter Carmen Toth is stepping boldly into her next chapter with the release of her most personal and politically charged album yet, Fix the World, arriving October 7, 2025. Known for her hook-driven power pop and retro-inspired sound, Toth’s latest project blends shimmering guitars, raw honesty, and a fearless message: it’s time for women to reclaim their power and rewrite the script.

Anchored by its title track — written in a burst of inspiration after a women’s gathering left her questioning performative femininity — Fix the World challenges generations of conditioning that pushed women to cater, compete, and conform. “We need to hold ourselves accountable for enabling the patriarchy and start rebelling against it,” Toth explains. “The only way we’re going to fix the world is by supporting each other fiercely and stepping fully into our power.”

The album’s tarot-inspired artwork by Peter Guidon mirrors that vision, reimagining The World card with Toth wielding both acoustic and electric guitars, drumsticks replacing batons, and her late cats, Snowshoe and Fritzy, watching as spirit guides. It’s a portrait of liberation — joyful, unapologetic, and unafraid to be seen.

Produced by Joel Wasson (The Discarded) and John Critchley (Lowest of the Low), Fix the World features a powerhouse lineup from Toronto’s indie scene, including Drew Atkins on bass, Michael McKenzie on guitar, and Lee Rose (Ace of Wands) lending haunting viola to the ballad “Ghost.” The project was mixed by Critchley and mastered by Grammy-nominated engineer João Carvalho, cementing its lush yet organic sound.

From the rallying anthem “Time Bomb Heart” to the soaring storytelling of “Pretty Dresses” and the raw conviction of “Fix the World”, the album strikes a balance between vulnerability and power pop grit. It’s a record rooted in struggle, healing, and community — but also an invitation to dance, sing, and embrace authenticity without fear.

For Toth, this is more than music. It’s a statement. “This is the most me record I’ve made,” she says. “Some of these songs date back to when I first started, but this is the first team who fully understood my vision. The 2002 version of me is very happy.”

With Fix the World, Carmen Toth emerges as one of Canada’s most vital voices in indie rock — one who isn’t afraid to confront hard truths while still wrapping them in melodies that stick.
