The Toronto Raptors delivered a commanding performance at home on Wednesday night, cruising to a 126-96 victory over the Charlotte Hornets at Scotiabank Arena. In one of their most well-rounded team efforts of the season, the Raptors showcased their depth, athleticism, and improved chemistry on both ends of the floor.
Jared Rhoden led the charge with a team-high 23 points, adding 7 rebounds and 4 assists, putting together one of his strongest outings in a Raptors jersey. Scottie Barnes also continued to impress, notching a double-double with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists, anchoring the defense and setting the tone offensively.
While the Raptors celebrated a complete team win, it was Nick Smith Jr. of the Hornets who put on a scoring clinic despite the loss, racking up 28 points, 10 assists, and 6 rebounds. Unfortunately for Charlotte, Smith’s individual brilliance wasn’t enough to turn the tide.
With this win, Toronto improves to 30-50 on the season, a small but meaningful milestone as they look to finish the season strong and build momentum for the next campaign. Meanwhile, the Hornets fall to 19-61, continuing their rebuilding journey.
Up next, the Raptors hit the road to take on the Dallas Mavericks on Friday, April 11th at 8:30 PM ET (KFAA/WFAA). The Hornets will also be in action on Friday, traveling to Boston to face the Celtics at 7:30 PM ET (NBC Sports Boston / FanDuel Sports Network – Southeast – Charlotte).
