Spike Lee on Ryan Coogler & Why Sinners is “The Greatest Experience” | Black Cinematic Power 🎥✊🏾

Legendary director Spike Lee is giving Ryan Coogler his flowers—and then some—for the bold, brilliant, and unapologetically Black masterpiece, Sinners. In a recent interview, Spike didn’t mince words, calling Sinners “the greatest experience” he’s had watching a film in years and hailing it as the epitome of Black Cinematic Power.

Spike praised Coogler not only for his directorial brilliance but also for his business acumen, pointing out that Coogler owns all the rights to the film. “That’s a power move. That’s the future,” Spike said. “We’re talking about a young brother taking full creative and financial control. That’s real independence.”

“Sinners”, starring Michael B. Jordan, has taken both the industry and audiences by storm. The film’s raw storytelling, powerful performances, and unapologetic social commentary are setting a new standard in Black cinema—and Spike Lee believes it will be studied for generations to come.

Spike also reflected on the importance of supporting Black filmmakers who break barriers, saying, “This isn’t just a movie—it’s a movement. And Ryan Coogler is leading the charge.”

With high praise coming from one of the most respected voices in filmmaking, Sinners is being firmly cemented as one of the most important films of 2025.
