Top5 is among the biggest rappers in Toronto, but how did he do what others couldn’t?
The rise of Toronto’s recent rap scene saw an emergence of many rappers from various parts of Toronto. One of these neighbourhoods included Jungle or Varna Drive where Artist such as Flippa, NoJokeJigsaw and Top5 would come out from.
Along with these rappers Top5 would release his own songs such as Hall of Fame with Robin Banks, Shirt off on any block and who gon do it with Styles P. This would only lead Top5 into other collaborations such his one and only song with LocoCity in Big Bandz. This would join Top5 and Casper TNG’s collaboration on Freeze as one of the best songs the city had seen to date. The same can be said for his track Steppaz with 3MFrench.
Top5 would also release Half of dis, Drill some more 1 and 2, Bap Bap Bap on WorldstarHipHop while hyping up his new releases on his Instagram live with WhyG and other BFR artists. In doing this, the songs Heard of me and Movie would be released along with a more recent release in G41. In the middle of these releases would come 2 cases, which served as one of Top5’s biggest songs to date.
All of this would compliment Top5’s collaborations outside his music in meeting a variety of celebrities. This would include Drake, Nas, Demar Derozen, Meek Mill, Ariana Grande, and many others.
