Toronto Rapper Push Keyz Arrested After Police Chase: Guns, Drugs, and Body Armor Seized

Date:

Toronto rapper Push Keyz, whose real name is Kaivon McKenzie, is facing serious charges following a dramatic police pursuit that ended with a crash, multiple arrests, and the seizure of illegal weapons and narcotics.

The 24-year-old artist was taken into custody after allegedly leading police on a dangerous high-speed chase. During the pursuit, a police cruiser was reportedly struck, escalating the situation and resulting in additional charges.

According to Toronto Police, McKenzie is now facing multiple charges, including:

  • Dangerous operation of a vehicle
  • Three firearm-related offences
  • Two counts of drug trafficking
  • Obstructing police

Upon arrest, law enforcement discovered a loaded firearm equipped with an overcapacity magazine, additional ammunition, and a second magazine. One of the individuals taken into custody was also found wearing a body armor vest, highlighting the level of preparedness and potential danger authorities were dealing with.

In addition to the firearms, police recovered a significant quantity of drugs—which are believed to be packaged for distribution—as well as Canadian currency. The bust adds fuel to ongoing concerns surrounding the intersection of rising gun violence and organized crime in Toronto’s music and street scenes.

Push Keyz, known for his gritty lyrics and growing popularity in the underground hip-hop community, now finds his career in jeopardy as he navigates this high-profile legal battle. The arrest has sparked conversations online, with fans expressing shock and concern over the allegations, while critics point to the ongoing trend of artists becoming entangled in real-life criminal activity.

As the investigation unfolds, McKenzie remains in custody awaiting a court appearance. Authorities have not released further details on the other suspects involved or whether more charges may be laid.

This incident serves as another reminder of the blurred lines between fame, lifestyle, and the law in the world of urban music.
